Orlando Pirates coach Jose Riveiro is saying goodbye to the Sea Robbers.
ANOTHER SPANISH HEAD COACH?
While the club is yet to announce Riveiro’s successor, Soccer Laduma believes that the club is considering one of Riveiro’s assistants. The name is Carlos Nodar Paz, and he currently serves as Orlando Pirates’ assistant coach and physical trainer. “While Pirates are expected to launch a thorough process to appoint a new head coach ahead of the 2025/26 season, insiders have revealed that continuity could play a key role in that decision,” the outlet reported. “Among those being considered is Paz, Riveiro’s compatriot, who joined the club at the beginning of the current season. Although his role is primarily fitness-focused he is no stranger to coaching, having previously worked as an assistant coach and youth coach in various parts of the world.
“His coaching journey includes stints at Spanish side Celta de Vigo alongside Riveiro, as well as ventures in India with East Bengal FC and in China with Wukan Three Towns FC,” the note added.
