Media Statement PARKTOWN – The police have arrested two suspects in connection with a business robbery that occurred at Mams Mall in January 2025. Mamelodi East Crime Prevention Unit and Crime Intelligence operationalised information about suspects linked to a business robbery whereby a store was robbed of an undisclosed amount of cash at gunpoint by approximately five suspects. The suspects were arrested in Mamelodi and were also found in possession of five 9mm Replica firearms, one R5 live ammunition, four 9mm live ammunitions and a cash register. All five suspects aged between 35 and 40 are expected to appear before Court on 07 February 2025. The Provincial Commissioner of Gauteng, Lieutenant General Tommy Mthombeni has applauded the members for their efforts in arresting the suspects and recovering the firearms which could have been used to threaten and rob people.
