But when the South Africans landed, that they had a frosty arrival in Lyon — which is the second largest metropolitan space of France — on Thursday, there had been heavy snowfall and town, together with the stadium they’re set to play at, lined in a white blanket of ice.

Bulls president Willem Strauss shared this photograph of the snow-covered Lyon stadium on his private Twitter account.

Commenting on the situations and the way the Bulls’ touring social gathering have coped since attending to Lyon, Rossouw stated the intense chilly is an entire new expertise for everybody.

“It’s the first time in France for us, and that will be an experience.  It’s extremely cold at the moment with the snow, so it will be a great challenge for us. The guys are quite excited.”

“If I look out of the window, the snow has stopped and it’s overcast. It’s extraordinarily chilly, and that can have an affect. But our method will stay the identical, so it’s about how we handle these large moments inside the sport.

“It will likely be fascinating as we’re enjoying at 9pm (French time), so it’s a late sport and it’s the primary time for us to play that late beneath this excessive chilly.

“It’s an artificial pitch, so that’s a little bit different to a normal pitch, which gets quite easily frozen. I just saw follow-up pictures now where they are clearing the field with a tractor and some sort of a machine. So I think it will continue, as I can’t see too many games being cancelled on this side of the world.”

Rossouw added that the Bulls should not oblivious to the added challenges and pressures that come with these excessive climate situations, however is confident that his gamers will step up and nonetheless be capable of produce magic moments, particularly the likes of exterior backs Kurt-Lee Arendse and Canan Moodie.

“The situations will all the time restrict your skill-set. The problem will likely be for these gamers to verify they develop themselves into extra full gamers, the place they will play in all situations.

“A man like Kurt-Lee will make you look foolish on any floor. I don’t assume he will likely be restricted. The problem will likely be to ensure you have that conventional method in situations that pressure you to be extra conservative. That’s the place our sport administration may have a terrific impact.

“For these gamers, it’s about assessing the situations, and making use of what’s wanted. If it isn’t snowing, then I believe they are going to be comfy in expressing their skill-sets.

“It’s obviously extreme. We were playing in 35-degree temperatures at home in training last week. Now we are in sub-zero degrees, on an artificial pitch with snow,” the stand-in Bulls boss defined.

“Over time, we have now come to some extent the place we embrace the problem and see it as a constructive.  We haven’t performed on a man-made pitch in snow, I think about the ball will skid a bit extra.

“The last time we played on an artificial pitch was in Glasgow and they upped the pace of the game a bit. This time, that might be more difficult with the snow.”
