Media Statement HEILBRON – Two brothers, aged between 26 and 29, were arrested for alleged murder in Heilbron. On Sunday, 29 September 2024 at at about 05:00, the police received a complaint of murder at Willemse Street, Sandersville area Heilbron On arrival at the scene, they were pointed to the deceased. The 29-year-old deceased was identified as Ashley Van Wyk and had sustained stab wounds on the upper body. Preliminary investigation revealed that the two brothers allegedly arrived at the said address and found the deceased and his friends drinking in a shack. One of the suspects asked for cigarettes, and when they could not supply him with cigarettes, he became aggressive. It is further alleged the two brothers later went outside with the deceased and allegedly assaulted and stabbed him. The two suspects were traced and arrested around Sandersville area, Heilbron. The two suspects will appear before the Heilbron Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday, 02 October 2024, on charges of murder. Ends
