A SAPS captain attached to the Forensic Science Laboratory has been arrested in Pretoria in connection with investigations linked to the Madlanga Commission.
According to News24, police spokesperson Brigadier Athlenda Mathe confirmed that the officer was arrested on charges of defeating the ends of justice.
The arrest reportedly follows a raid in which ballistic reports, ammunition, and other evidential material were seized.
The officer is expected to appear in the Pretoria Magistrate’s Court on Monday.
This arrest adds another dramatic twist to the Madlanga Commission fallout, as investigators continue probing alleged interference, police failures, and evidence handling in sensitive criminal cases.
