Four arrested in Bloemfontein for human trafficking, sexual exploitation, and firearm offenses
The four suspects, aged between 20 and 40, were arrested in Bloemfontein on 25 February 2025 for their involvement in a disturbing human trafficking operation.
They are facing charges of trafficking in persons, illegal possession of drugs, illegal possession of South African National Defence Force (SANDF) uniforms, and illegal possession of firearms and ammunition.
The arrests followed a response by the Serious Organised Crime Investigation (SOCI) unit to reports of trafficking at a house in Bayswater, Bloemfontein.
Authorities revealed that a 39-year-old woman from Bloemfontein had been lured by a female suspect with promises of a better life.
Upon arriving at the house, the victim was given money to buy food and clothes, only to have the situation turn grim.
She was drugged, forced to perform sexual acts, and made to clean the house.
The investigation led to the swift arrest of the suspects.
