A 47-year-old man will appear in Bloemfontein magistrate court today 2 May on a charge of murder.

follows an incident that happened at the Plots in Navilsig, Bloemfontein.

On 29 April 2025 at about 23:10, Navilsig police were called to attend a complaint at Plot Jan Hitten Street, Dealsgift Navalsig for an Assault GBH. On arrival at the scene, they found a 38-year-old male victim with a stab wound on the stomach.

EMS was called to the scene and the ambulance transported the victim to a hospital in Bloemfontein for treatment. He succumbed to his injuries in the early hours of Tuesday, 29 April 2025, at ± 02:10.

The suspect was arrested on the scene, and the knife that was allegedly used in this crime was confiscated to be used as evidence during the trial. He was initially charged with assault GBH and was later changed to murder.
