Radisebo Jacob Sebatli, also known as Seun or Sompo, was sentenced to 30 years imprisonment by Bloemfontein High Court on Friday 30 May 2025. Radisebo (31) was arrested for the gruesome murder of his 23 year old girlfriend in Naledi Park, Botshabelo.
The police were called to a crime scene on Saturday 3 August 2024. On arrival, a lifeless body of a female was pointed to them by Emergency Service Personnel and the mother to the victim. According to the report given to the police, the family was awakened by a loud bang on the door.
Before they knew it, Seun had forced his way into the house, shouting for his girlfriend to come out. The mother of the victim pleaded for her daughter’s safety as she noticed Seun’s raging anger. The 23 year old victim tried to escape, but Seun ran after her stabbing her with a sharp object at the back, the neck and stomach.
The victim fell to the ground and succumbed to the stab wounds. Emergency Service Personnel were called to the scene, and they declared the victim dead on arrival. The police at Boithuso Police Station opened a case docket of Housebreaking with the intention to commit murder, and Murder. Detective Sergeant Msokoli Shadrack Valashiya was tasked to conduct the investigation.
The investigation was completed meticulously, and the trial started. Radisebo Jacob Sebatli (30) was then convicted for Housebreaking with intent to murder and Murder; read with Section 51(1) and part of Schedule 2 of Act 105 of 1997 by the High Court. Radisebo was sentenced to spend 30 years in prison.
