Are you easily anxious or fearful over things happening around you? Life can be chaotic these days for sure. But we do not have to be nervous or give away our peace. Even if I say so I adjust to new, demanding situations very well. What is my secret, you ask? Glad you asked because this balm for anxiety is meant for everyone.
I prayed to the Lord, and he answered me.
He freed me from aI prayed to the Lord, and he answered me.
He freed me from all my fears.
Those who look to him for help will be radiant with joy;
no shadow of shame will darken their faces.
In my desperation I prayed, and the Lord listened;
he saved me from all my troubles.
For the angel of the Lord is a guard;
he surrounds and defends all who fear him.
(Ps. 34:4-7, NLT)
We can’t free ourselves from our fears or anxieties. But the Lord can. When we learn this and learn to practice this in our lives, we are free indeed. We don’t have to be afraid of anything anymore. Because nothing will happen to us without God knowing it and him empowering us to get through it. We don’t need to be afraid of even darkness, Jesus is the light of our world too.
Hudson Taylor put it this way: “I am no longer anxious about anything, as I realize the Lord is able to carry out His will, and His will is mine. It makes no matter where He places me, or how. That is rather for Him to consider than for me; for in the easiest positions He must give me His grace, and in the most difficult, His grace is sufficient.”
God is indeed able to carry out his will and that is what I want and nothing else. Only in God’s will I am safe and secure, happy and blessed. Outward circumstances might be harsh, but in him, I am more than fine. That’s why I keep surrendering to him each morning. I only want what he wants for me because I know it is the ultimate best for me. And for you.

for those who fear him will have all they need.

Balm for Anxiety
So do not hesitate anymore. The only way to live free of anxiety and fear is through God’s grace. The more you practice letting go, the happier you become. God’s grace is the balm for anxiety, nothing else works. First God saves us by grace and then he equips and sustains us by his grace. It does not mean our lives would be easy though but it means we are not alone and we will be fine no matter what.
The Lord hears his people when they call to him for help.
He rescues them from all their troubles.
The Lord is close to the brokenhearted;
he rescues those whose spirits are crushed.
The righteous person faces many troubles,
but the Lord comes to the rescue each time.
(Ps 34:17-19, NLT)
God has promised to take care of his children. We can trust him. He is a promise-keeper God. We can count on him. I have been doing this and surrendering to him daily for decades now and I can tell you: it works. It is not my doing that I live anxiety-free no matter where in the world I am, it is all God’s doing. His grace is stronger than any fear you might have and mightier than any anxiety you experience. You can count on God. No matter what happens in your life, God’s grace is enough. So no need to fear. Instead, keep dancing in God’s grace!
Gracious, loving Heavenly Father,
Thank you for being stronger than anything in the world.
Enable us to trust you and let go of our anxieties and fears.
Shower us with your healing balm, and empower us for joyful living.
