Kaizer Chiefs youngster Luke Baartman has admitted that life at Naturena has not been easy due to limited game time this season.
The 19-year-old attacker joined Amakhosi in August 2025 after leaving Cape Town Spurs following their relegation to the ABC Motsepe League.
However, breaking into the Chiefs’ starting line-up has proven difficult for the talented forward.
Baartman has made just six appearances in all competitions this season, with most of them coming from the bench.
His last appearance came in April during the goalless draw against Polokwane City in the Betway Premiership.
Speaking ahead of Kaizer Chiefs’ final league match against Chippa United, Luke Baartman admitted that sitting on the bench has been frustrating.
“It’s good to be a Kaizer Chiefs player, but it’s been tough not playing regularly because there is a lot of competition,” he said.
Baartman also explained how difficult it is to enter matches when the team is already under pressure.
“When you come on while the team is losing, there’s pressure to attack quickly, and sometimes you lose the ball and must defend again,” he explained.
The youngster says patience remains key as he continues working hard in training while waiting for his chance.
