According to Sunday World, there is growing drama at Lesedi FM, after the station’s top-rated presenter, Nyakallo “Ba2Cada” Leine, allegedly went absent without leave (AWOL).
Leine, who is a beloved figure at the station, was expected to co-present the Monate Breakfast Show on December 30 and 31, 2024, but allegedly failed to show up.
His absence went unnoticed by management until his colleague, Thabo “Bundle of Joy” Mokone, was left to host the show alone.
Leine had allegedly applied for annual leave from January 1 to 17, 2025, and promised to return on January 20.
However, when he showed up on the 18th, he was allegedly told not to come to the studio, as management wanted to discuss the issues regarding his absence.
The station’s program manager, Mannini Nyokong, informed him that he was not scheduled to work and prohibited him from returning to the airwaves.
Sunday World also report that, tensions have risen within the station, with claims that some station executives and presenters wanted Leine fired due to his absence and growing success in his other ventures, including his football team, D’General FC, which is performing well in the ABC Motsepe League.
There are also allegations of jealousy among his colleagues due to his multiple business interests outside of radio, leading to further complications in his relationship with the station.
