Real name Lungile Khumalo, Naima Kay who took from singing about heartbreak decided to sing about the joy of finding love.

“It has not been easy since people know me about singing about the heartbreak until she find new love. It has changed me emotionally and it helped me reshape my writing skills and started writing the feel songs, about finding love and being in love. Love is beautiful and I have to mention it that love changes the character of a person,” said.
Naima Kay said that she never quit music but she decided to take break and focus on her sick grandmother.

“I never quit music but I decided to take a break and focus on looking after my grandmother who is gravely ill. At some stage I wanted to relocate to Johannesburg but with God’s grace I have been able to release new music with new and young songwriters and new producers from Umlazi,” she said.

She said that her producers are Bab’Omncane real name Sphelele Mkhize and Zakwethu whose real name is Sanele Ndlovu.
Naima Kay said that she first released a song with Mnqobi Yazo called Esifubeni Sami.
“I want to inspire lover birds about dancing to the beat of love through her music which I always seeks to inspire greatness within those that have lost love and seek to find it and all those that are deeply in love. Sharing my journey with the world, in understanding that love is a precious gift given to us by God. Through God as your anchor love will always reign supreme,” she said.

Naima Kay said that she is planning to release uThando neMali songs on the 13th of March this year.
“I’m working with Bra Mdu Ngcobo, my boss at Touch Africa. After the passing away of Robbie Malinga and our working relationship with Mjakes, I discovered Babomncane and Zakwethu, who are similar to what the combination of Mjakes and the late Robbie Malinga use to do,” she said.

Naima Kay has serenaded crowds at the biggest festivals in South Africa, namely Cape Town International Jazz Festival, Macufe Festival, Ugu Jazz Festival, Matatiele Festival and Durban Jazz Festival.
