Top Billing, produced by Cardova Productions, will return on Thursday 30 April to SABC3 at 19:00 with new weekly episodes, with a repeat on SABC3 on Sundays at 19:00, and another repeat on SABC1 on Tuesdays at 21:30.

The SABC ended Top Billing in October 2019 after 27 years on air but the show has thankfully, finally, been revived after a six-year absence.

Top Billing returns with a new presenter Zozibini Tunzi.

Besides a group of former Top Billing presenters who are back on screen as part of the aspirational TV series including Basetsana Kumalo, Michael Mol, Jonathan Boynton-Lee, Ryle DeMorny, Fezile Mkhize and others a few new presenters will also join, including Zozibini Tunzi.

The former Miss South Africa and Miss Universe 2019 is a perfect fit for the return of the glamorous lifestyle magazine show and is destined to become “the new Bonang”, following in the steps of Bonang Matheba who joined as a Top Billing presenter in 2012.

From global stages to your favourite lifestyle show, Zozi brings her grace, intelligence and unmistakable presence to the Top Billing family.

Shortly after the arrest of City of Ekurhuleni Manager Kagiso Lerutla who is duped as the blesser of Social Media Influencer Cyan Boujee’s at O.R Tambo International Airport on Sunday , it has emerged that South African Banks have frozen all her accounts.

Cyan Boujee, whose real name is Honour Zuma, has found herself at the centre of intense online speculation after reports circulated that her bank accounts were frozen shortly after she revealed a luxury home purchase in Midstream Ridge Estate near Pretoria.

When Cyan dropped the bombshell announcement of her flashy new R10 million mansion, Mzansi went wild and some hyped her “soft life” glow-up, but others (including Podcast and Chill’s MacG) straight-up dragged her, demanding proof like title deeds and questioning how an influencer/DJ pulls off that kind of purchase.

MacG basically said “the math ain’t mathing” and called for receipts.

Cyan clapped back hard with a clip flexing: “I get paid every day.”

After the arrest of Lekutla, Cyan wasted no time deactivating her IG and other accounts right after the arrest news broke, calling it a “lil break” while denying fresh rumours.

Mnisi who vehemently denied that he helped secure a municipal contract for a colleague’s relative is expected to appear today (Monday) while his friend and embattled and suspended Sergeant Fannie Nkosi will be appearing at the Boksburg Magistrate court.

Mnisi testified before the commission on Friday, where questions were raised about a security tender awarded to a company called Ngaphesheya, owned by the brother of Nkosi.

The company has reportedly received close to R3 million from the municipality.

At the centre of the concern are WhatsApp messages presented as evidence, showing Mnisi requesting the company’s vendor registration number.

But Mnisi said that the request is being misinterpreted.

He told the commission that the City of Tshwane was, at the time, transitioning to a new digital supply chain system, a process that caused widespread technical problems for suppliers.

According to Mnisi, many businesses struggled with registration and accessing the system, leading to multiple complaints being escalated to senior officials.

He maintained that his request for the vendor number was simply to check whether the company’s details had been correctly captured during the system migration, not to influence or assist in securing a tender.

Mnisi also confirmed that he does know Nkosi, but insisted that this relationship had no bearing on procurement decisions but was based on their love for guns and motorbikes.

The commission is continuing to examine the evidence as part of its broader investigation into how tenders were handled within the municipality that saw it lose close to R3 Billion.

At this stage, no findings have been made against Mnisi in relation to this specific allegation.

Following the remarks made by Eastern Cape Premier Oscar Mabuyane against the Master’s qualifications by Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) Julius Malema, King Beyelekhaya Dalindyebo has shared his opinions on the matter.

Mabuyane served Malema with lettters giving him 21 days to apologise for the remarks he made over his qualifications.

“In my capacity as Spokesperson to His Majesty King Buyelekhaya Zwelibanzi Dalindyebo, I, Mayibuye Melisizwe Mandela, convey the following position as instructed by the King. Let it be stated without ambiguity that the people of South Africa are not fools, and they will not be misled by carefully constructed denials that avoid the central issues under public discussion,” said Dalindyebo Spokesperson Mayibuye Melisizwe Mandela

Dalindyebo said Mabuyane’s admission that he does not hold a Master’s degree from the University of Fort Hare does not resolve the matter. Instead, it deepens long standing public concern and raises further questions that have persisted for years.

“Rather than providing full clarity, the response has been marked by selective disclosure and reliance on procedural and legal defences. Hiding behind the term *sub judice* is not accountability, it is avoidance.

“I further recalls that he previously took steps by opening a formal case relating to matters connected to the conduct of Mabuyane. At the time, Dalindyebo was informed that the matter had been escalated to the then Acting Provincial Commissioner of the South African Police Service. To this day, the outcome of that process remains unclear. This continues to raise serious concerns about transparency, consistency, and the equal application of justice, particularly where politically connected individuals are involved,” he said.

Mandela said it is further noted that concerns of delayed accountability and unresolved high level matters have, in different contexts, also been raised in relation to processes involving senior public figures, including President Cyril Ramaphosa.

“This pattern reinforces a growing public perception that accountability mechanisms are not applied with equal effectiveness across all levels of leadership. The response issued by Premier Mabuyane seeks to dismiss legitimate public concern while simultaneously launching personal attacks against Julius Malema. This approach does not address the substance of the issue. Instead, it reflects a political strategy of deflection, where scrutiny is met with accusation rather than explanation.

“His Majesty notes that what has been raised by Julius Malema should not be treated as an isolated or occasional political intervention. It reflects issues that require continuous public scrutiny and sustained accountability in the daily governance of public institutions. These matters should not depend on periodic political statements but must form part of an ongoing national culture of accountability,” said Mandela.

Mandela said the continued silence or lack of visible disciplinary processes from EFF provincial leadership and the ANC leadership regarding the allegations linked to the Premier raises further concern.

“The absence of clear public records showing formal disciplinary action by the province in relation to the University of Fort Hare matter only strengthens public questions about consistency and institutional response.

“His Majesty further observes that accountability cannot rest solely on the voice of one political leader. While Julius Malema has consistently raised these concerns, it is the responsibility of all institutions, leaders, and society at large to ensure that such matters are not ignored until they become politically convenient,” said Mandela.

Mandela said that Dalindyebo notes that public office requires full accountability and that engagement with public scrutiny must be met with clarity, not evasion or intimidation.

“It is in this context that His Majesty acknowledges the role of the Economic Freedom Fighters, under its Commander in Chief Julius Malema, in raising matters of accountability in the public domain. The King affirms that he stands in support of all lawful, principled, and transparent efforts that seek to ensure that public officials are held to account without fear or favour.

“The matter at hand is not political theatre. It is a question of public integrity, institutional trust, and equal accountability before the law. South Africans deserve leaders whose records can withstand scrutiny without evasion or contradiction,” said Mandela.

Mandela said Dalindyebo remains firmly committed to justice, transparency, and the principle that no individual is above accountability, regardless of position or political influence.

A late night roadside stop turned into a deadly scene on Saturday night at around 22:30pm when a 23-year-old man was shot and killed on the R59 freeway, while a 16-year-old boy was left wounded.

The shooting occurred near the Johan le Roux off-ramp after a silver Volkswagen Polo, carrying four occupants, was forced to pull over due to the vehicle overheating.

According to Spokesperson from Meyerton SAPS Constable Nompumelelo Zazini the victim, identified as Xolani Dube (23), had crossed the freeway to seek assistance.

Dube reportedly approached a white Toyota Corolla parked on the opposite side of the road to request water.

In a sudden turn of events, shots were fired from the Corolla. Dube was hit and tragically succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

The violence did not end with the initial shooting. Reports indicate the white Toyota Corolla sped off toward Vereeniging before circling back to the Johan le Roux off-ramp.

Upon returning, the suspects opened fire again on the stationary Polo.

The driver’s 16-year-old son sustained a gunshot wound to his arm.

The driver and a fourth passenger managed to escape physical harm.

The teenager was rushed to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.

Forensic teams combed the area, eventually recovering 13 spent 9mm cartridges from the scene. As of Sunday morning, the motive for the attack remains unclear, and the suspects are still at large.

“We are appealing to any members of the public who may have witnessed the incident or seen the white Toyota Corolla in the area to come forward,” said Meyerton Station Commander Colonel Senzangakona Christopher Mohale.

Police have registered cases of murder and attempted murder.

Anyone with information is urged to contact the Meyerton SAPS or use the MySAPS app to provide anonymous tips.

“The last time I spoke to her, she told me that she wanted to add four more cameras at her home,” a family member said. When asked why she wanted to install the additional cameras, the family member said Mani replied that she was scared.

Municipal Manager April Ntuli laid the charges following findings of widespread irregularities in the municipality’s fleet department.

According to a local report the probe revealed that millions were spent on trucks, bakkies and heavy machinery that were either never delivered or became unusable shortly after acquisition.

According to preliminary findings, officials approved invoices as proof of delivery despite vehicles never arriving.

Investigators flagged duplicate engine numbers on some assets, while others were reportedly registered under third parties instead of the municipality.

Reports suggest the municipality paid for up to 17 vehicles but received only a fraction, with at least one vehicle still unaccounted for.

Two brothers have been sentenced to life imprisonment by the Kuruman Regional Court in the Northern Cape for serious sexual offences.

On 16 April 2026, the court sentenced Omphile Thamage (29) and Keolopile Thamage (29), both from Bankhara, to life imprisonment each for rape.

National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) Northern Cape spokesperson Mojalefa Senokoatsane said Omphile Thamage was also sentenced to eight years’ imprisonment for attempted rape.

“On 14 January 2022, Omphile Thamage attempted to sexually assault a 15-year-old girl after she rejected his advances. The incident was interrupted before it could be carried out.

“On 18 March 2023, both brothers forced a 19-year-old woman from a tavern to her residence, where they raped her. The brothers were found guilty on 12 February 2026 after the court rejected their defence, including a claim of consent despite DNA evidence linking one of them to the crime,” he said.

Senokoatsane added that while out on bail, the accused allegedly intimidated the victims and witnesses and attempted to bribe them, leading to the cancellation of their bail. Intimidation reportedly continued through associates.

“The court found no substantial and compelling circumstances to deviate from the prescribed minimum sentences and agreed with the State that life imprisonment was appropriate, noting the accused showed no remorse and posed a danger to society,” he said.

The Durban Regional Court in KwaZulu-Natal (KZN) sentenced Rubishen Munsamy (41) for fourteen counts of fraud and contravention of Customs and Excise Act on Friday.

Munsamy is a sole director of a clearing agent. During the period between September 2018 and October 2019 his clearing agent was contracted to clear imported goods.

KZN Hawks Spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Simphiwe Mhlongo said the client supplied necessary documents to his clearing agent and Munsamy framed a draft import bill of entry.

“He presented it to his client for the payment of customs duties and value added tax. The client paid him the requested amount, however, Munsamy altered the description of the goods when he was submitting to the South African Revenue Service (SARS). As a result due taxes were drastically reduced and SARS suffered a financial loss of R14 711 077.60 in respect of fourteen shipments he was instructed to clear.
