BUTTERWORTH – Police arrested a 28-year-old male at Bongoza Location under Mission Administrative area, Butterworth for possession of an unlicensed firearm on 26 December 2024. They acted on information they received from the community member that there is a man allegedly in possession of the firearm at Mission A/A. They proceeded to the locality to look for the suspect, and they found him sleeping. They conducted a search in the house and recovered the firearm in his bed where he was sleeping. They confiscated the 9mm pistol with no serial number , without magazine and ammunition. He was then arrested and charged for possession of unlicensed firearm. The suspect is appearing at Butterworth Magistrate Court soon. Ends
