GAUTENG – In the early hours of Saturday, 22 March 2025, members of the Anti-Gang Unit (AGU) acted swiftly on information regarding the whereabouts of a wanted suspect in connection with an attempted murder case, at a flat on Dowling Street, Westbury. Following a determined effort to gain access to the premises, the AGU team, led by the relief commander, successfully persuaded the occupants to open the door. Upon entry, the suspect was positively identified by the complainant and subsequently placed under arrest. Further investigation by the AGU led to the location of an alleged accomplice residing in another block of flats on the same street. Although the suspect was not present, the AGU encountered the parents of the wanted individual. Later, demonstrating commendable cooperation, the parents approached the AGU team and willingly handed over their 17-year-old child, who was also positively identified by the complainant. Both suspects are scheduled to appear before their respective courts soon. Brigadier Maphoto, the AGU commander, praised the cooperative actions of the parents, emphasising the importance of community involvement in upholding the law and ensuring justice prevails.
