Media Statement MAKHANDA – In what was deemed an extraordinary team-building exercise, members, who are forming part of Men for Change at JOZA SAPS exchanged their tools of trade for fishing rods during an outing that was held at Collingham Towers Dam on Friday, 29 November 2024. The event provided a much-needed break from their daily work routine, which require them to be at all times mentally strong and alert. Members, who are seasoned anglers came up with the initiative, and the inexperienced participants were taken through an introductory session on angling. The inexperienced anglers were paired with seasoned colleagues to learn the tricks of the trade. Members enjoyed the moment in a relaxed atmosphere, in camp chairs with an occasional ‘chop and dop’, the men enjoyed casual drinks and barbecue over a sundowner. In a spirit of camaraderie, each member contributed R5 towards a prize for the biggest catch of the day, which went to Warrant Officer Soxujwa. The day-long escape was a resounding success, with attendees eagerly sharing their experiences with colleagues who couldn’t join in. Those who missed out were left with a bad case of FOMO (fear of missing out)! Ends
