The African National Congress (ANC) has strongly condemned the latest actions of AfriForum and its CEO, Kallie Kriel, accusing them of running a reckless and racially driven campaign that threatens South Africa’s democracy. The party says these actions are deliberately designed to undermine the country’s sovereignty, discredit legitimate state institutions, and spread fear among citizens through what it describes as manufactured disinformation.

According to the ANC, this behaviour goes far beyond irresponsible commentary. The party argues that it represents a calculated political agenda aimed at destabilising the democratic order and weakening social unity. The ANC warned that such conduct risks deepening divisions in society and eroding the trust that holds the nation together, stressing that South Africans must reject narratives that seek to divide, mislead, and undermine the country’s hard-won democratic foundations.
