AmaZulu Football Club has signed a strategic partnership with Spanish La Liga side Levante UD aimed at expanding development pathways for young local players.

The deal was unveiled on Thursday at Moses Mabhida Stadium by club president Sandile Zungu, CEO Snenjabulo Zungu-Ntuli and head of football strategy Sinesipho Mali.

DDC coach Kurt Lentjies and assistant Thabo Mngomeni also attended. As part of a wider youth overhaul, Usuthu confirmed former Orlando Pirates goalkeeper Thabang Stemmer has joined the development setup.

The alliance is a pillar of AmaZulu’s Vision 2032 plan as the PSL’s oldest club heads towards its centenary.

Management wants a first team built largely on homegrown KwaZulu-Natal talent and capable of challenging for the league title.

“Today we are taking another major step forward,” Zungu-Ntuli said. “This partnership creates a direct pathway from KwaZulu-Natal to the international stage.
