AKA Murder Case Moves to Durban High Court as Trial Nears

The case involving the killing of Kiernan Forbes, widely known as AKA, and his close friend Tebello “Tibz” Motsoane has taken a major step forward after being transferred to the Durban High Court.

Siyabonga and Malusi Ndimande appeared in the Durban Magistrates Court on April 17, 2026, where the matter was officially moved to the higher court. This transition signals that the case is now progressing toward full trial proceedings.

The high-profile case has drawn widespread attention since the fatal shooting in February 2023, which left many shocked across the country. Prosecutors are expected to rely on a combination of forensic findings, CCTV footage, and cellphone data to link the accused to the crime.

A pre-trial conference has been scheduled for June 19, with the trial expected to begin in July. Both accused individuals remain in custody as the case continues to unfold.
