Media Statement GAUTENG – Thabani Moses Maseko (36) has been arrested by members of the Germiston based Hawks’ Serious Organised Crime Investigation in Delmas for tempering with essential infrastructure (theft of Transnet fuel) on Wednesday, 03 July 2024. On Wednesday, 03 July 2024, members of the Hawks’ Serious Organised Crime Investigation arrested Maseko at the Delmas Magistrates Court after he had attended court for a related crime that was committed back in 2021. The arrest emanates from a crime committed on 23 October 2023, after three members of the syndicate were nabbed while draining fuel from a Transnet pipeline in a farm in Klipfontein, Nigel.
Maseko made his first appearance at the Nigel Magistrate Court on Thursday, 04 July 2024 where the matter was to postponed to Wednesday, 10 July 2024 for formal bail application, while the three of his accomplices remain in custody as bail was successfully opposed against them.
