JOHANNESBURG – The Hawks’ Serious Commercial Crime Investigation (SCCI) arrested 30-year-old, Ciniso Masuku who is alleged to have benefitted in the R1.2 million graft of the Corporate Social Investment Programme (CSI) of a Standard bank of South Africa appeared in the Specialised Commercial Crimes Court sitting in Palm Ridge Magistrates court, today, 10 December 2024. The accused handed himself over this morning, and was processed at Johannesburg Central police station on charges of fraud and theft in terms of Prevention of Organised Crime Act. The suspect is charged alongside his aunt, Dr Nomsa Masuku and Mr Phillip Roux who have since appeared in court and were granted bail of R20 000 as well as R10 000, respectively. Through an intensive probe, the Hawks investigators established that the suspect unlawfully benefitted from the Trust fund as a recipient of undue funds. The accused was granted bail of R20 000 with conditions and his case was remanded to 06 February 2025. Ends
