Media Statement POTCHEFSTROOM – A 40-year-old Chris “Madala” Zitha is expected to reappear in the Rustenburg Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, 20 June 2024, for bail application. Madala initially appeared in court on Monday, 10 June 2024, on a charge of possession of explosives. Zitha’s court appearance emanated from his arrest at Mahumapelo Phase 1, by Marikana Visible Policing members on Thursday, 06 June 2024, during a Crime Intelligence driven operation. He was arrested after the operationalisation of intelligence regarding a man who was seen in possession of explosives. The police allegedly searched the accused’s place and found the explosives. The acting District Commissioner of Bojanala Platinum Sub-District 2, Brigadier Mmamotsamai Ntoagae, thanked all members involved in the operation for their dedication that led to the arrest. Ends
