Media Statement POLOKWANE – A male suspect, aged 43, was arrested for allegedly raping two minor children aged 08, at Tambo village in Dennilton policing area, on Saturday, 02 November 2024 at around 09h00. The complainant alleged that she was at her residence when her uncle arrived and informed her that his child was raped. She immediately accompanied him to the victim’s residence. Upon talking to her, she told them that the known suspect lured her together with her friend into his house and ultimately raped them. The community members acted swiftly to apprehend the suspect. Preliminary investigations established that the two children went to the suspect’s house in need of assistance regarding their school project. He then took advantage and raped them. Police were notified about the incident. They opened two counts of rape and locked up the suspect for his shameful actions. The Provincial Commissioner of the South African Police Service in Limpopo, Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe hailed the arrest of the suspect and further praised the community members for assisting to apprehend the suspect. The suspect will appear before Dennilton Magistrate’s Court this morning facing charges of two counts of rape. Police investigations continue. Ends
