A 63-year-old man arrested for raping a minor

WELKOM – A 63-year-old suspect is expected to appear in court soon following his arrest on Saturday, 7 December 2024, in Welkom.

According to reports, the 12-year-old victim informed her aunt that the suspect has been having sexual intercourse with her for the past three years and giving her money to keep his actions a secret. These incidents allegedly took place since 2022 until recently.

The Police were informed, and the suspect was subsequently arrested for Rape. He will appear today, 9 December 2024, in the Welkom Magistrates’ Court.
