POLOKWANE – A 25-year-old male suspect was arrested by the Police in Mahwelereng following a murder incident committed at Tshamahanzi village in the Waterberg District on Saturday, 30 March 2024 at about 20:00. It is reported that a 25-year-old male victim was at a local tavern with his brother and sister when he decided to go outside the premises. It appears the victim had an argument with a 25-year-old male suspect and it escalated into fight between the two. The suspect allegedly stabbed a 25-year-old male on the chest with a sharp object and the victim in retaliation also stabbed the suspect on the shoulder. The victim was rushed to Tshamahanzi Clinic for medical treatment but succumbed to injuries upon his arrival. Following the incident, the suspect fled the scene and went to his parental residence in the area. Police were summoned at the scene and immediately apprehended a 25-year-old male suspect. The suspect is expected to appear before Mahwelereng Magistrate court on Tuesday 02 April 2024 facing a charge of murder.
