POLOKWANE – A male suspect aged 22 was arrested for allegedly raping two minor children aged 04 and 03 at Mafukani village, Vhembe District on Friday 15 November 2024 at about 17:00. It is reported that on Friday 15 November 2024, the victims’ mother was at home when she noticed her child going to the bushes, and she became suspicious, followed her, and found her with other children. She then observed the suspect, who appeared to be sexually assaulting one of the children. She then asked him as to what was he doing, after which he fled the scene. One child came out naked. She asked her why she was naked. The child confirmed that she had been raped by the suspect. Both children were taken to the nearest clinic and were transferred to the closest hospital, where penetration was confirmed. The incident was reported to the police, and the suspect was traced and arrested. The suspect is expected to appear before Mutale Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 18 November 2024, facing charges of two counts of rape. Police investigations are still ongoing. Ends
