Media Statement POLOKWANE – A 20-year-old female suspect is expected to appear before Thohoyandou Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 31 March 2025, following her arrest for possession of a suspected unlicensed firearm and ammunition at her residential area in Tshidzini Tshilavulu. On Thursday, 27 March 2025, at about 10:45, the SAPS Thohoyandou Task Team conducted an operation to trace wanted suspects. An identified suspect was located at Tshidzini Tshilavulu for robbery, committed in the Thohoyandou area. On arrival at the house, the police found a female person at the house, and they asked her about the whereabouts of the alleged suspect. The officers requested to search the house, and it was granted. During the search, the police discovered a suspicious black bag carrying a firearm in the bathroom. The firearm (38 special) and five live rounds were seized. The female suspect was arrested immediately and charged with possession of a suspected unlicensed firearm and ammunition.
