Singh: “Giving up is not in my system”
Luther Singh did not dress it up when asked how he has lasted so long in Europe while so many South Africans come home.
The Bafana Bafana winger looked straight down the cameras and drew a line.
“I’ve got ambitions. Giving up is not in my system,” he said. He was speaking during a Bafana Bafana media conference on Monday.
Europe, he said, is not a postcard. Different countries. Different languages. Different coaches.
Loans. Benchings. The quiet suggestion that it is time to return. Singh heard all of it. He stayed anyway.
“It’s not easy. People think you must just come home. I didn’t want to give up. I always believed I can still do it,” he added.
Now at AEL Limassol and back in the national-team conversation, the Soweto-born attacker is still talking about going higher, not going back. Work every day. Adapt. Stay ready.
