DJ Maphorisa Claims Samthing Soweto Blocked R500K FNB Stadium Offer
DJ Maphorisa has revealed that a major financial offer to Samthing Soweto was blocked by a breakdown in communication.
Speaking on the Podcast and Chill with MacG platform, the prominent music producer disclosed that he and Kabza De Small were eager to include the singer in their historic Scorpion Kings Live lineup at FNB Stadium.
According to Maphorisa, they were prepared to pay Samthing Soweto a staggering R500,000 for the performance.
However, the opportunity never materialized because the singer had reportedly blocked them across communication channels, leaving the Amapiano pioneers unable to pitch the offer.
The revelation highlights the lingering tension between the former collaborators.
While the artists previously dominated the charts with massive hits like “Akulaleki,” “Amantombazane,” and “AmaDM,” their professional relationship has steadily deteriorated in recent years.
Public disputes surrounding music credits, master ownership, and financial payouts have driven a deep wedge between the stars.
Fans had been holding out hope that the massive FNB Stadium concert would serve as a healing ground for the long-standing feud.
Maphorisa’s latest comments indicate that the divide remains deep, suggesting that a musical reunion is unlikely in the near future.
Samthing Soweto has not yet publicly responded to Maphorisa’s claims regarding the R500,000 offer.
Text messages were sent to his team but there was no response with regards to the above matter.
