Police Intensify Search for Missing Runner Elizabeth Mokolo Moselakgomo, Also Known as ‘Tsonts’
The South African Police Service (SAPS) has intensified the search for 38-year-old Elizabeth Mokolo Moselakgomo, also known as “Tsontso”, who has been reported missing after she went for an afternoon run on Wednesday, 10 September 2026.
According to National SAPS Spokesperson Brigadier Athlenda Mathe, Moselakgomo reportedly left her home in Kempton Park during the afternoon to go for a run and has not returned.
She left behind her eight-year-old daughter. When she failed to return home later on that evening, her daughter contacted family members, who subsequently reported her disappearance to the police.
“Since the disappearance was reported, police have been conducting searches and following up on all available leads in an effort to locate Moselakgomo. Police have also made enquiries at hospitals and mortuaries, but these efforts have so far yielded no positive results.
“he circumstances surrounding her disappearance are currently being investigated, and police are pursuing every possible lead to establish her whereabouts and ensure her safe return to her family,” she said.
Mathe said SAPS is making an urgent appeal to members of the public, the media and the social media community to assist in locating Moselakgomo, who may also be known to people as Tsontso.
“Anyone who may have seen her, knows her whereabouts, or has any information that could assist the investigation is urged to immediately contact Warrant Officer Elvis Manyike on 082 465 7249.
“Members of the public are urged to share this appeal widely across social media platforms and community networks. Even seemingly insignificant information could prove crucial in locating her,” she said.
Mathe said SAPS appeals to everyone who may have information to come forward. Our priority is to locate Moselakgomo and reunite her safely with her family.
