Arrows move Chiefs clash out of Durban — announce important fixture change details
Golden Arrows’ Betway Premiership clash with Kaizer Chiefs has been moved from Durban to Mpumalanga, with the fixture now set for Sunday 20 September at Mbombela Stadium.
Abafana Bes’thende had been due to host Amakhosi at King Zwelithini Stadium in Durban on Saturday 19 September. But that plan is now off.
The club said, “The match originally scheduled to take place in Durban on 19 September 2026 has been moved to Mbombela Stadium in Nelspruit on Sunday, 20 September 2026 at 3pm.”
Arrows said they looked for another grounds in KwaZulu-Natal first. “The Club explored all available options but was unable to secure a suitable alternative venue in Durban.
“The match therefore had to be relocated due to circumstances beyond the club’s control,” added Abafana Bes’thende.
The switch will hit home supporters hardest. Arrows called it “a highly anticipated fixture” and “sincerely apologises for the inconvenience caused by the relocation, particularly to supporters in Durban and the surrounding areas who were looking forward to attending the match.”
Chiefs sit third in the table after an unbeaten start. Arrows are mid-table after a mixed opening to the campaign. The two sides have already met this season, with Arrows knocking Chiefs out of the MTN8 in August.
The KwaZulu-Natal club thanked partners for helping get the game on. “The club thanks all stakeholders, particularly Kaizer Chiefs Football Club, for their understanding and co-operation throughout the venue-change process.”
Tickets go on sale at 1pm on Friday 11 September via Computicket at R100 each.
