Ndodana Tshuma’s Extradition Proceedings Set To Begin In Johannesburg Magistrates Court
The case of Ndodana Mkhanyisi Tshuma resumes in the Johannesburg Magistrates’ Court today, Thursday, with extradition proceedings expected to get under way after he reached a plea and sentence agreement with the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA).
Tshuma, 45, pleaded guilty on Tuesday to the unlawful possession of a firearm and ammunition, as well as contravening the Immigration Act.
He was arrested in Johannesburg in July after allegedly fleeing the United Kingdom, where he is wanted in connection with the deaths of his wife, Nothabo Zandile Tshuma, 42, and their daughters, Natalie, 15, and Nala, 5.
The three were found dead at their home near Bedford, England, on 6 July. UK prosecutors have authorised three murder charges against Tshuma.
South African authorities have indicated that Tshuma will be extradited to the UK once the local proceedings are concluded.
The proposed sentence in the South African matter has not been disclosed.
