High-density operations lead to recovery of 40 firearms across Mpumalanga
The South African Police Service (SAPS) in Mpumalanga continues to intensify its efforts to combat the proliferation and unlawful possession of firearms through high-density and intelligence-driven operations conducted across the province.
Between 03 and 06 September 2026, Police recovered 14 firearms, comprising 13 handguns and one rifle.
This follows the recovery of 15 firearms, comprising 10 handguns and five rifles, during high-density operations conducted between 27 and 30 August 2026.
Furthermore, between 20 and 23 August 2026, Police confiscated 11 handguns.
These recoveries bring the total number of firearms recovered or confiscated during the three high-density operations conducted between 20 August 2026 and 06 September 2026 to 40, comprising 34 handguns and six rifles.
