New political party ‘MOVE SA’ to launch ahead of local elections, unveiling mayoral candidates for Gauteng hubs
A new political player is set to enter South Africa’s elective landscape as MOVE SA officially launches this coming weekend.
Led by prominent businessman and philanthropist Rali Mampeule, the party aims to challenge the political status quo by introducing a fresh governance model centered on economic opportunity and strict accountability.
The official launch is scheduled for Sunday, 30 August 2026, at 10:00 AM at the Riversands Incubation Hub.
According to pre-launch briefings, MOVE SA is positioning itself around five core pillars designed to address long-standing citizen frustrations:
Responsive leadership that connects directly with community needs,Economic opportunity aimed at tackling high unemployment, Accountable governance to restore public trust,Accelerated service delivery in failing municipal areas and Meaningful citizen participation in democratic processes
In a direct bid for immediate local impact, the party will use the launch to formally introduce its mayoral candidates for three critical Gauteng municipalities: the City of Johannesburg, Ekurhuleni, and Emfuleni.
By contesting these economic and industrial hubs, MOVE SA signals its intention to establish an immediate, tangible footprint in local government.
Party President Rali Mampeule, alongside members of the newly formed leadership collective, will outline the party’s long-term political positioning, policy priorities, and upcoming organizational programs.
