Gagasi FM Unveils Major Mid Season Line Up Shake Up as Selbeyonce Joins Breakfast Show
Gagasi FM is reshaping its on air line up with a bold mid season refresh that signals a new chapter for one of KwaZulu Natal’s biggest commercial radio stations.
The broadcaster has announced sweeping changes to its flagship programmes, bringing award winning broadcaster Selby “Selbeyonce” Mkhize to its coveted breakfast show while repositioning Minnie Ntuli in the afternoon drive slot. The changes, which take effect from 1 August 2026, are aimed at strengthening the station’s programming while responding to listener feedback and the evolving lives of its presenters.
The biggest headline is Selbeyonce’s appointment as the new co host alongside popular comedian and radio personality Felix Hlophe on Gagasi FM Breakfast, which airs weekdays from 06:00 to 09:00.
The move follows months of enthusiastic listener response whenever Selbeyonce filled in on the breakfast programme. His chemistry with Hlophe quickly became a talking point among audiences, making the permanent appointment a natural next step in his flourishing broadcasting career.
Listeners can expect energetic conversations, humour and engaging entertainment as the duo takes charge of the station’s most important weekday slot.
Meanwhile, radio personality Minnie Ntuli will transition to afternoons, joining Sphectacular and DJ Naves on The Gagasi Fast Lane, which airs weekdays from 15:00 to 18:00.
The station said the move comes at an important time in Ntuli’s life as she embraces motherhood. The revised schedule is expected to provide a healthier balance between her professional commitments and personal responsibilities while allowing her vibrant personality to thrive in the fast paced afternoon drive programme.
Gagasi FM is also introducing fresh talent to its weekend programming.
Popular social media content creator Ashay Sewlal will join Umsindo Takeover every Saturday between 16:00 and 19:00, where he will host the show’s Maskandi Double Play feature. Sewlal will also work alongside presenters Mkay Music and Sphokuhle Luthuli, adding new digital driven content and audience engagement to the programme.
According to Gagasi FM, the latest changes reflect the station’s ongoing commitment to delivering compelling radio while keeping its audience at the centre of every programming decision.
“We’ve seen the incredible response whenever Selbeyonce has stepped into the breakfast show, and we knew there was something special there,” said Alex Mthiyane, Head of Audience Experience at Gagasi FM.
“We also believe Minnie will be a natural fit for the afternoon drive. Her energy and versatile personality will allow her to thrive in the fast paced environment of the show.
“The addition of Ashay on Umsindo Takeover will bring fresh excitement to the programme, and we believe his entertaining personality will complement the existing team. These mid season changes are designed to strengthen our on air offering and enhance the overall listener experience.”
