Flymotion Responds to Legal Letter From DJ Tira’s Lawyers After Controversial Podcast Interview
A legal dispute involving one of South Africa’s most recognisable music figures has taken another significant step after comedian and podcaster Flymotion formally responded to a legal letter issued by DJ Tira’s attorneys.
The latest development follows controversy surrounding remarks made during an episode of the On Point With Sandy Nene Podcast Show, recorded at Nawe Upopile Studios. While the dispute has attracted growing public attention, Flymotion now says he has taken several steps in an effort to bring the matter to a peaceful conclusion.
According to a response letter dated 29 July 2026, Flymotion made it clear that his reply should not be interpreted as an admission of any allegations contained in the correspondence sent by DJ Tira’s legal representatives, N N A Attorneys.
Instead, he maintains that he appeared on the programme solely as a guest and had no authority over the production, publication or management of the podcast episode. He also stated that he exercised no control over how Nawe Upopile Studios operates or distributes its content.
In an apparent effort to de-escalate the dispute, Flymotion said he requested the studio to remove the podcast episode, together with all related material, from every platform on which it had been published. According to his response, the studio agreed to the request.
Flymotion further stated that he has no intention of making or circulating any false or defamatory statements about DJ Tira, either now or in the future.
His response also confirms that he has already issued a public retraction, clarification and apology on his own social media platforms. He expressed hope that these actions would help resolve the matter without the need for further legal proceedings.
The dispute originated after DJ Tira’s lawyers sent a legal letter concerning statements allegedly made during the podcast interview on the On Point With Sandy Nene Podcast Show. The contents of those remarks prompted legal intervention, placing the interview under intense public scrutiny.
Although Flymotion’s latest response signals a willingness to settle the matter amicably, it remains uncertain whether DJ Tira’s legal team considers the issue fully resolved.
For now, the legal exchange marks the latest chapter in a dispute that has drawn widespread attention within South Africa’s entertainment industry. Whether the apology, retraction and removal of the podcast episode will bring the matter to a close remains to be seen.
