Bodies of Zandile Tshuma and Daughters Repatriated to Zimbabwe for Burial as UK Murder Investigation Continues
The final journey has begun for Nothabo Zandile Tshuma and her two young daughters, whose brutal killings in England have left families, friends and communities across two continents grieving.
The bodies of the 42 year old mother, together with her daughters Natalie, 15, and Nala, 5, are being flown to Zimbabwe, where they will be laid to rest following weeks of heartbreak and an international murder investigation that continues to unfold.
Family members confirmed that the remains are expected to arrive in Bulawayo on Sunday, 2 August 2026. From there, they will be taken to a local funeral parlour before mourners gather for a church service and a joint burial on Tuesday, 4 August.
The return of the family marks another painful chapter in a case that has captured widespread attention in both the United Kingdom and Zimbabwe.
The three were found dead on 6 July 2026 at their home in Great Denham, near Bedford, after concerned relatives alerted authorities when they had not been seen for several days.
Post mortem examinations later confirmed that all three victims died from blunt force trauma, with fatal head injuries identified as the cause of death.
Investigators allege that the family’s husband and father, Ndodana Mkhanyisi Tshuma, 45, who was also known as Mark, had already left the United Kingdom through Heathrow Airport on a British passport before the bodies were discovered.
He was subsequently arrested in Johannesburg, South Africa, where he remains in custody.
United Kingdom prosecutors have authorised three counts of murder against Tshuma. However, he is currently facing an unrelated charge of possessing an unlicensed firearm in South Africa while legal processes continue over his extradition to Britain.
The tragedy has prompted an overwhelming outpouring of grief from members of the Bedford community, where the family had built their lives.
Earlier this week, close to 500 mourners attended a remembrance service in Bedford, paying tribute to a mother remembered for her unwavering devotion to her daughters.
Friends and community members described Zandile as a caring and compassionate woman whose life revolved around her children. Natalie and young Nala were remembered as cheerful, kind hearted girls who brought warmth and happiness to everyone who knew them.
As their bodies make the journey home to Zimbabwe, loved ones are preparing to say their final goodbye.
While funeral arrangements are now under way in Bulawayo, investigators on both sides of the world continue working through the legal process surrounding the man accused of one of the most devastating family tragedies to emerge from Bedford in recent years.
For grieving relatives, the return of Zandile, Natalie and Nala to their homeland offers a chance to honour their lives together, even as they continue to seek answers and justice.
