A KwaZulu-Natal youth football programme QB Ingomuso has honoured youth employment company Lulaway for helping the club participate in the 2026 Pirates Cup after financial challenges nearly forced it to withdraw.
The academy, led by respected youth coach Ziphozonke Dlangalala, had secured its place in the prestigious tournament held at the University of Johannesburg in April. However, a lack of funding threatened to end the team’s dream before it even began.
Lulaway stepped in with financial assistance, covering transport, accommodation and meals, enabling the young footballers to travel to Johannesburg and compete against some of the country’s top youth teams.
This week, coach Dlangalala sent a delegation to Lulaway’s offices to present the company with a token of appreciation in recognition of its generosity and commitment to youth development.
Lulaway chairman Andile Mkhosana said supporting QB Ingomuso was a natural fit because it aligns with the company’s mission of empowering young people.
“Lulaway has been placing young people into work for the last 16 years,” said Mkhosana.
“We have placed more than 210,000 young people into jobs during that period and have registered over two million on our database. We felt it was important to invest in these young people because youth development is at the heart of what we do.
“When the opportunity came through Shabalala, we contributed financially to help these youngsters. We are proud of the work Coach Dlangalala is doing to empower young people and help them build better futures.”
The gesture marks another milestone for QB Ingomuso as the academy continues to make an impact both on and off the field through the development of young football talent in KwaZulu-Natal.
