Suspect arrested for possession of stolen stock in Wolmaranstad

A multi-disciplinary, intelligence driven operation conducted by the Stilfontein Stock Theft and Endangered Species Unit (STES) and Crime Intelligence in the Dr Kenneth Kaunda District in the North West, led to the arrest of a suspect for possession of suspected stolen stock on Monday.

Information received, regarding a suspect allegedly in possession of suspected stolen calves, kept in a kraal near the old Tswelelang location, were operationalized.

The operation resulted in the arrest of one suspect and the recovery of four calves with an estimated value of R28 000.00.

Preliminary investigations established that the recovered calves belongs to a farmer from Skietpan Farm in Wolmaransstad.

The 59-year-old suspect was detained and briefly appeared before the Wolmaransstad Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday.

Obusitse Abel Mokgalagadi, remained in custody until the next court appearance on Monday,17 August 2026 for Legal representation and bail application, for charge of possession of suspected stolen stock.
