BREAKING NEWS: Vusi Shongwe Set to Testify at Madlanga Commission Over Durban Meeting With Arrested General Feroz Khan
MK Party MP Vusi Shongwe has told Parliament’s Ad Hoc Committee that he has been invited to testify before the Madlanga Commission of Inquiry investigating allegations made by KwaZulu-Natal Police Commissioner Lieutenant-General Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi.
Shongwe said his testimony relates to a meeting in Durban that he attended at the invitation of Crime Intelligence head General Feroz Khan.
Khan was recently arrested alongside other suspects on charges linked to defeating the ends of justice and alleged violations of the Precious Metals Act.
According to Shongwe, the Durban meeting is one of the issues expected to form part of his testimony before the commission.
The Madlanga Commission is probing allegations made by Mkhwanazi concerning policing, crime intelligence, political interference, and alleged misconduct within law enforcement structures.
Shongwe’s expected appearance before the commission adds another political dimension to the ongoing inquiry, which has already drawn significant public and parliamentary attention.
The development also places renewed focus on Khan, whose arrest has raised further questions about senior figures within crime intelligence and ongoing investigations linked to alleged criminal conduct.
Parliament’s Ad Hoc Committee is also dealing with matters related to Mkhwanazi’s allegations, as lawmakers continue to examine the broader implications for policing, accountability, and national security.
The matter is developing.
