LONG-ARM OF THE LAW CATCHES UP WITH SUSPECT WANTED FOR HOUSE ROBBERY ON BUS TO GAUTENG

POLOKWANE: A coordinated operation between members of the Provincial Flying Squad and Banderlierkop SAPS led to the successful arrest of a 27-year-old suspect linked to cases of house robbery, assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm (GBH), and possession of suspected stolen property.

Members attached to the Provincial Flying Squad were performing routine operational duties on Monday, 25 May 2026, when they received information from Banderlierkop SAPS requesting assistance to intercept a bus travelling along the N1 South towards Gauteng.

The suspect, who was allegedly attempting to flee the province, was positively identified after police strategically tracked and intercepted the bus. Upon searching the suspect, police recovered suspected stolen properties (copper). The suspect (27) was immediately arrested.

The suspect is expected to appear before a local Magistrate’s court soon.

The police investigations are continuing.
