The ANC Norman Mashabane regional infighting is slowly breaking the mighty lion’s votes ahead of the 2026 Local Government Elections.
The developments come after the former mayor and PR Councilor of Greater Letaba Municipality, Geoffrey “City” Modjadji, terminated his membership with the ruling party on Sunday ( 17 May 2026)
According to a resignation letter in our position, it states that his resigning from a Sub-Regional Secretary position of Josiass Ramalepe ANC Branch in Ward 03 with immediate effect.
The former mayor served the municipality from 2011 to 2016 for a period of five years before stepping down in August.
He was succeeded by former mayor Peter Matlou
He returned to the municipality as a speaker and later as a proportional representative of the council in 2025.
Before the above positions, he also served as the mayor of the Mooketsi_ Sekgosese TLC Mayor in 1995_2000
It is alleged that his amongst the ANC bigwigs who will officially be announced by ActionSA Deputy President Mbahare Kekana and Provincial Chairperson Victor Mothomela on Tuesday ( 19 May 2026) in Tzaneen as a new member.
We tried to get hold of the ANC Norman Mashabane Regional spokesperson, Peter Ngobeni, with no success.
The LGE will take place on 04 November 2026.
