The African National Youth League ( ANC) in Norman Mashabane Region has lashed out at the Greater Tzaneen Mayor Gerrison Molapisane for refusing to send his resignation letter.
According to a reliable source, it is alleged that Mayor Molapisane has taken the movement to the Polokwane High Court for a fair dismissal.
The regional young lions released a media statement on Friday, calling for an immediate and decisive organizational action towards the gross misconduct of the GTM mayor.
ANCYL Spokesperson Hendric Valoyi says the shameless and ill discipline demonstrated by Molapisane should be corrected by the movement.
” This reckless and unacceptable conduct constitutes a direct attack on the principle of the ANC. Such behavior is not only backward but also reflects dangerous tendencies of factionalism, entitlement, selfishness, and arrogance, ” said Valoyi
The Regional ANC leadership structure has even consulted the provincial leadership to engage with the mayor in order to resign.
On 7 May 2026, Provincial ANC Secretary Reuben Madadzhe and his spokesperson Ernest Rachoene held a caucus with the regional leadership, but Molapisane failed to attend.
Valoyi says the ANC is supreme, and its authority is non-negotiable
