South African Police Service (Alberton SAPS) officers have arrested a man and a woman today, Saturday following two street robberies in the General Alberts Park and Mayberry Park areas.
Private security companies CPS Security and React 24 tracked the suspects’ vehicle and located them at a premises in the area.
During the operation, police recovered a firearm and Mandrax narcotics. Stolen items, including cellphones, were later traced and retrieved from a local pawn shop.
The suspects, whose identities cannot be released at this stage, are expected to appear in court soon on charges including armed robbery, illegal possession of a firearm, and drug-related offences.
