The uMkhonto weSizwe (MK) Party has called for the immediate suspension of Sports Minister Gayton McKenzie following allegations linking him to a major drug cartel.
The claims were made by convicted fraudster Jermaine Prim, who alleges McKenzie has ties to the so-called “Big Five” syndicates.
The accusations were presented to Parliament and later repeated in a televised interview.
The MK Party has urged the Madlanga Commission to investigate.
McKenzie and the Patriotic Alliance have denied the allegations, calling them baseless and threatening legal action.
Meanwhile, Department of Correctional Services is probing how the eNCA interview with Prim was conducted without approval.
