A heartbreaking tragedy has shocked the community in Cape Town after a young man, Litha Govuza, was brutally shot and killed while waiting for food at a tuckshop.
According to reports, Govuza and his friend stopped at a small shop on February 19 while heading to a study group. Moments later, armed criminals suddenly appeared and opened fire. Govuza was shot five times in the head and later died on the way to the hospital. His friend survived but was shot twice in both legs.
The shocking incident happened in Mfuleni, where Govuza was known as a talented keyboard player at Kingdom of God Ministries International.
Witnesses say the attackers may have mistaken the two young men for another group involved in an extortion dispute targeting foreign-owned shops.
💔 Community members and Govuza’s family are now demanding justice after the young man, who dreamed of studying at university and improving his maths, lost his life in a senseless act of violence.
⚠️ A disturbing video circulating online reportedly shows the gunman stepping out of a vehicle and attempting to shoot one of the victims as terrified children watched inside the shop.
This tragic story highlights the growing concerns about crime and extortion targeting small businesses.
📢 Watch the full report to understand what really happened and why the family is demanding justice.
