Following the claims that the staff workers at Moja Cafe were not paid their December, the restaurant finally paid it’s workers last night.
The unhappy workers had contacted MDN News complaining that the management of Moja Cafe in Southgate Mall branch were not paid their December Salaries and that there was no word from the management explaining why there was a delay in their salaries.

The angry workers had told MDN News that they were now having difficulties in paying rent, some had run out of food, some had mentioned that they had to stay indoors during the New Year’s Eve celebration because they had no money.
When MDN News contacted Moja Cafe boss Kutlwano Pitso, he denied that they had not paid the salaries of their staff.
“Look! The majority of our staff was paid their salaries in December 31. The only people that has not been are those who absconded and went awol during December so their salaries needs to be adjusted. Those ones will paid before Monday and they still have to go for disciplinary hearings. I don’t know where you get that information because our workers are happy.
“You can write whatever you want because you guys are all about content. It’s not fair on us because you are destroying another black man who is trying by all means to make a change in the lives of the unemployed youth,” he said.
In a twist of things after Mdn News contacted Pitso on Saturday evening, the salaries of the majority of the Moja Cafe workers were before 21:00 pm.
“We are very grateful to MDN News. We just got paid and it’s all because of you. It is clear that they were not prepared to pay us our salaries and they were not communicating with us. In our WhatsApp group, they ignored us when we kept on asking about our salaries. We thank you MDN News for what you did for us. Please keep helping South Africans who are going through the same thing,” said the workers who had contacted MDN News about their salaries.
