A 19-year-old man from Lephalale in Limpopo Province has been arrested and is facing two counts of rape after two teenagers aged 14 and 15 were found to be pregnant.
The suspect is expected to appear before the Lephalale Magistrate’s Court on Friday.
According to police, the case was uncovered by the Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit after the two victims, both from Marapong, were discovered to be pregnant during consultations at a local healthcare facility.
Provincial police spokesperson Colonel Ledwaba confirmed that the victims’ guardians opened the rape cases, prompting police to launch an immediate manhunt.
The suspect was later traced and arrested at his hideout on Makopa Farm under the Thabazimbi policing area on 30 December 2025.
Police have reiterated their commitment to protecting children and urged communities to report all cases of sexual abuse involving minors.
