The ANC Veterans League (ANCVL) in Limpopo has expressed deep sadness following the passing of former deputy minister Dikeledi Magadzi at the age of 75. Magadzi passed away on Monday, surrounded by her loved ones. In a media statement, the provincial Veterans League described Magadzi as a long-standing and dedicated member of the movement who served the people of Limpopo and South Africa with distinction.

Between 1994 and 2010, Magadzi was deployed as a member of the Executive Council (MEC) in Limpopo, serving in several key portfolios including Public Works, Agriculture, Health, and Safety, Security and Community Liaison. She was later deployed to the National Assembly, where she served as Chairperson of the Portfolio Committee on Transport from 2014 to 2019. From 2019 to 2021, Magadzi served as Deputy Minister of Transport before being appointed Deputy Minister of Water and Sanitation from 2021 to 2023.
The ANCVL said Magadzi’s passing is a loss to the movement and the broader community. The organisation has not yet announced details regarding her memorial service. Magadzi is survived by her five children and two grandchildren.
