Ritavi Police have arrested a wanted 26 year old male suspect in connection of the murder of Kgopotso Remember Mushwana (18) on Wednesday morning at Dan village_ Tzaneen.
Kgopotso was stabbed on her stomach by a sharp object last week, near her home at Wisani Village.
She succumbed to her injuries at Letaba Hospital.
The grieving family was anticipating a peofessional nurse out of the young woman.
“Kgopotso was intelligent and excelled in mathematics and physical sciences. She wanted to become a nurse and improve my living condition,” said Mrs Mushwana
According to the family, the police apprehended the suspect in a taxi coming from Tembisa in Gauteng Province, following a tip off.
The suspeft who fixed cellphones for a living was never in a love relationship with the deceased.
“The friend, who she accompanied to the hair salon, when the incident occurred. Informed us that the suspect was proposing, but Kgopotso kept on rejecting him,” said the mother.
She stated that as a family, they came to know about a boy from Lenyenye, whom it is alleged she was dating.
“The family contacted us, asking for permission to hand deliver Kgopotso’s sneakers that she left behind.” Said a grieving mother
The family confirmed that Kgopotso left home around 10:00 pm to accompany a female friend to a hair salon.
“I’m in pain. If Kgopotso wronged him, i wish the suspect could have confronted me before taking her life.” said Mrs Mushwana
Police have not yet released the statement regarding this information.
Kgopotso was laid to rest on Sunday.
